Italian wine insiders know that a good Valpolicella Ripasso can offer a great wine that’s exceptionally good value for money, and this is certainly the case with the Tinazzi Ca’ de’ Rocchi Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Montere. Ripasso – ‘repassed’ in Italian – involves adding the skins and seeds left over after making Amarone wines to Valpolicella to give it greater depth, nuance and alcohol content. When done well, these wines can be seen as baby Amarone’s that drink well young and have sufficient intensity and character to pair with food.
Cagliero Barbera c DOC Superiore 2019
91 Points - Gilbert & Gaillard. Designated as Superiore DOC, this Barbera d'Alba has been aged in French oak barrels for 12 months to attain a greater depth and balance. A lovely, versatile wine with that will continue to age gracefully, if you can resist drinking it now! Deep reddish purple colour, rich in vibrant tones. Its bouquet is redolent of fruits and flowers: peaches, apricots, apples and wild flowers. Its flavour is medium-bodied and well structured, with acid levels that help it age well!
Villa Walter Fontana Legame Rosso di Valtellina DOC 2019
This 100% Chiavennasca (the Valtellina name for Nebbiolo) is the perfect alternative to a fresher, lighter style of Barolo. If you never heard of ‘Heroic Viticulture’ you must check out where this wine was made. Valtellina valley is nestled in the Italian Alps about 100km from Lake Como and the Stelvio pass. Jumps out of the glass with its fragrant nose of fresh forest fruit and red berries. Dry and savoury on the palate, an elegant and vibrant style of red wine with notes of spices, black cherries and peppery, somewhat salty finish. Tenute Ca ’Botta go to great lengths to extract as much flavour as they can so give the grapes an extra-long maceration and a long, slow fermentation. The result is a wine that has all of Garganega’s freshness and vitality but with greater body, richness and intensity. This is a fine example of what this excellent variety can do in the right hands.

The TastingBOX is delivered free of charge by UK Royal Mail Tracked 48hr to UK addresses only.
As indicated in our Quality Promise we will happily refund or exchange any faulty bottles. All we ask is the bottles in question are returned to us at least half full for verification purposes. If a bottle is broken on delivery we will also replace or refund it but we do require photographic evidence of the breakage. Equally we can arrange for the bottles to be collected the next time you receive a delivery from us.
Should we be unable to fulfil any part, or all of an order, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will suggest comparable substitutions. You are free to refuse these suggestions and are eligible for a full refund of relevant parts of the order.
In all instances, Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) must be informed of any claim within 24 hours of receipt of delivery by email or telephone. All refunds will be issued after we have received and approved the faulty items and the amount will be re-credited to your account within 30 days. The amount refunded will be equal to the full amount paid for the relevant products at the time of purchase and must be made by the same payment method as the original sale.
If you choose to cancel your contract of sale with Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) you may do so within 30 days of receipt of the goods. If the goods have already been dispatched they must be returned to us unopened and undamaged, and Perfect Cellar (Beyond the Bottle Ltd) will not be liable for any costs associated with the original or return delivery.
No refund can be given when a case has left bond as the value will be affected. Individual bottles of Fine Wine will be considered for refund on a case-by-case basis.
We advise contacting our Customers Services team before making any claim to ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible.
Advent Calendars - Due to the made-to-order nature of our Advent Calendars, they are not eligible for a full refund. However, we reserve the right to issue a refund in the form of store credit.
