1 * Chateau Labegorce Zede de Labegorce Margaux 2020

Zede de Labegorce is the second wine of Château Labegorce, one of Margaux’s oldest estates with a history dating back to the fourteenth century. The estate lies on the plateau to the northwest of Chateau Margaux and just to the north of Chateau Lascombes. In keeping with the rest of the commune, Labegorce produced exceptional wines in 2020. The Zede de Labegorce shows all of Margaux’s style and elegance but has a powerful structure thanks to the heat and the high levels of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. Drinking well now, it has the ability to develop over the next 5 years or more.

1 * Grangehurst Cabernet Sauvignon - Merlot 2009

Handcrafted – Traditional – Unhurried. Grangehurst Winery is a boutique wine cellar on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain in Stellenbosch, aged for 15 years in their own cellar before release, this particular wine is a must try, full-bodied barrel matured red wine with smooth, ripe tannins, especially if you like a great quality Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot / this wine has the benefit of not having to age in the bottle yourself. Typically, Jeremy only releases his wines once they are beautifully integrated and delightfully smooth. Complex aromas; flavours of black and red berries, cassis, mocha and violets. A full-bodied barrel matured red wine with smooth, ripe tannins. A stunning, mature Bordeaux style red.

1 * Durigutti Proyecto Las Compuertas Malbec 5 Suelos 2022

95 Points – Tim Atkin MW. Only 9,000 bottles of this experimental Malbec were made by the Durigutti Brothers, Hector and Pablo. It is made from five different parcels of vines, defined according to the soil profile: deep clay loam, silt loam, rocky loam, sandy loam and boulder loam. Each parcel is vinified separately in 'concrete eggs' before the final blend is created. The vineyard is at an altitude of 1,050 meters, ensuring good levels of acidity, vital in the production for high quality malbec, medium - full bodied, with lovely pure fruit and a refreshing balanced finish.

1 * Tenute Ca 'Botta Alta Valpolicella Superiore DOC

92 Points - Luca Maroni. This is produced from high-altitude vineyards using hand-picked Corvina Veronese, Rondinella, and Corvinone grapes. The vines’ altitude imbues a lovely freshness and aromatics to the wine which are balanced by it being made in their patented Fermentino Ca'Botta® tank for greater richness of structure and aroma.

1 * Casa La Rad Solarce Rioja Tinto

92 Points - Decanter. This 90+ point Rioja from a modern style, family run winery is incredible value for a wine with this amount of complexity and style. The Solarce Tinto is a blend of Tempranillo, Grenache, Mazuelo & Graciano and is aged for 8 months in American and French oak barrels. Full-bodied and silky smooth with layers of fruit and spice. Fantastic Value for money for this superb Rioja.

1 * SpaceNine A23 Pinot Noir

The husband-and-wife team behind A23’s wines, Thomas and Gunhild, have a unique approach to winemaking. Above all else, they aim to produce wines that capture the essence of the grape they are using. While many winemakers are all about terroir and a taste of place, for Thomas and Gunhild, the grape’s the star. Taking this approach with Pinot Noir makes a lot of sense. Pinot’s innate complexity and style means it needs no augmentation or assistance. The A23 Pinot Noir is full of fresh strawberry, cherry, and blueberry fruit with a touch of beetroot and mint coming through on the long, silky finish.
