Dehesa de los Canonigos

Dehesa de los Canonigos

Dehesa de los Canónigos, named Best Winery in Spain 2024 by VEREMA, is one of Ribera del Duero’s great historic estates, located in Pesquera de Duero. Its name originates from its first owners, the Council of the Cathedral of Valladolid, made up of 22 canonic monks. The winery’s architecture is a defining feature, with its naves gradually rebuilt to form the estate as it stands today. After changing hands multiple times, it was acquired in 1931 by the Cid family, who owned it until the 1960s. Nestled in the Duero Valley’s renowned “Golden Mile,” it sits between Valbuena and Pesquera de Duero, a prime area for exceptional winemaking.
